This Video shows a safety pass of John Cost's, ARS Marine sponsored, Roger's Drag Star. The boat typically ran ET's of 7.39 seconds to 7.60's at speeds up to 152 MPH. The design was introduced in the 1970's by Roger Weiman of Rogers Custom Boats. In the late 1970,s Wally Albrights Drag Star "Duel In The Sun" held the IDBA World MPH record in Unblown Gas Jet at 112mph. The ARS boat was so fast that it competed in the Top Fuel Class without running Nitro! It ran only methanol. None of these tunnel bottomed boats ever hooked, or blew over, and were known as the safest Fuel Jets ever built. In 2010 ARS Marine has redesigned and narrowed the keel to increase the top end speed. The first test boat is under construction starting this week.
